Imagine your wedding in Grand Old Style, in one of the Island's oldest and most historic places; the Grand Old House, Petra Plantation, which was established in 1908. Grand Old House is the premier wedding and event planner in the Cayman Islands and has 16 awards from Wine Spectator Magazine.

Our wedding planner can assist you with all additional services you want to add on to our package; we personalize and customize add details to your wishes.
When do we meet our wedding official and coordinator?
Before you arrive in Grand Cayman we will arrange a time and date for the first meeting. You will be given telephone numbers to contact us should any questions arise during your stay on the island. When you will be travelling on a cruise ship, time is at the essence and you will meet the minister and coordinator about 30 minutes prior to your ceremony. Please note that most email correspondence will be done with Desiree Evans, but it will be her or one of her colleges assisting you on the day itself.
How far in advance can the wedding date be confirmed and what is the cancellation policy?
The wedding date can be confirmed up to one year in advance. We request a non-refundable deposit of US$500.00. This deposit will be fully credited against your final bill. See specifications for cruise ship weddings. Vendor services booked through us and cancelled within 14 days prior to the wedding date are subject to a cancellation fee.
When it payment due and which form of payments do you accept?
Upon booking we require a non-refundable $500 deposit. For cruise ship wedding we might require an additional payment if many vendor services are requested. For on Island wedding ( sunset weddings) all vendor services need to be paid 7 day before the wedding. The balance is due on the day of the wedding and can be settled with any major credit card, cash or a bank check issued to the Grand Old House. No personal checks are accepted. When paying with a credit card please do notify you bank of your travel plans and to expect an overseas charge.
Will there be other weddings on the same evening?
We only accept one wedding per night but as we are a public restaurant other reservations might include wedding parties.
Is there a wedding package offered?
At the Grand Old House we believe that every wedding should be unique, so we offer only three basic packages, but have several different upgrades and customized options available. We are very creative and will work with you and your budget to make your day perfect and personal.
Do you know the proper etiquette?
We are well versed in traditional wedding day etiquette. We will work with you to decide how traditional or casual you would like your wedding to be.
Can we get married the same day we arrive?
There is no waiting period. The special wedding license is issued during regular office hours. It takes approximately two hours to have the application granted. Click here to view legalities. What ID do we need?
From January 2008 all US citizens are required to travel with a valid passport
What time do use for services schedule?
All services would be scheduled according to island time, verify with your cruise ship on what time zone they are
Is a premarital physical exam required?
No premarital examination or blood test is required to obtain a marriage license.
What about the wedding reception and dinner?
We can offer you multiple menu choices and can customize these to meet your needs. We can offer you private dining areas for parties up to 400 guests. Click here to see our a la carte menu, or for parties of 15 people or more several menus to choose from. We have an extensive wine list that has won 16 awards from Wine Spectator. We do not allow for any food or beverages to be brought in from the outside.
What wedding cakes do you offer?
The traditional wedding package includes a 6 inch wedding cake made by our award winning pastry chef. For upgrades or flavors please see our wedding and special occassions cake gallery, or send us a photo of your dream cake and our award winning pastry chef will create it for you. We do not allow for any food or beverages to be brought in from the outside.
